三毛is a famous author in Taiwan,

this song is about 三毛's teenage years:

大約是1955年, 三毛是在台灣首屈一指的女子中學"北一女"就讀的,
Around 1955, 三毛 studied in the top one all-girl high school(北一女),
這個學校以綠色的制服聞名,
the school is well known for their green uniform,
那就是為什麼歌詞中會出現"綠色的制服".

三毛雖然在文學藝術方面非常敏銳而有天份,
三毛 is smart, talented and sensitive in literature and art,
然而在數學方面卻是個白痴,
but seemed a idiot in mathematics.
三毛在初二的時候，數學常得零分。
When she was grade two in junior high school, she used to get zero point in quizzes
後來, 三毛發現數學老師每次小考都是課本後面的習題。
afterward, 三毛 found that mathematics teacher always picked some of exercises at the bottom of the textbook as quiz questions.
為了不要留級，陳平把數學題目背下來，
In order not to fail to go up to the next grade, 三毛 learned all the questions by heart,
小考一連考了六個一百分。
then she got six 100-points in quizzes in a row.
數學老師開始懷疑她作弊。
The mathematics teacher started doubting that she cheated in quiz
自尊心很強的三毛對老師說：

「作弊，對我來說是不可能的，

就算你是老師，也不能這樣侮辱我。」

於是數學老師拿了一張試卷叫陳平作答。

她得到零分。

老師當著全班的同學用毛筆在她的眼睛周圍畫了兩個代表零蛋的大圈。

畫完，全班同學哄堂大笑。
when he finished drawing, all the classmates busted into laughter.
老師叫三毛在教室角落罰站。

下課後，老師又叫三毛到操場繞一圈。

經此羞辱，三毛第二天在教室昏倒，

心理開始出現了嚴重的障礙，
some serious obstacles/traumas in mental began appearing,
後來經常逃學到公墓看小說，
afterward, she used to runaway from school and went to public graveyard to read novels.
最後終於休學, 把自己關進都是書的房間裡。
as a result, she finally stopped going to school and shut herself up in her room full of books.
這樣灰色的日子長達七年.
